The AIA Ventura County Chapter congratulates Jacob Martinez of Oxnard and Riley Barkis of Westlake Village, who have each been awarded a 2015 Aspiring Architect Scholarship of $1,250. Jacob graduated from Pacifica High School and is now in his first year of studies at the New School of Architecture in San Diego. Riley graduated from Oaks Christian High School and is studying Architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The awards are made possible by the generous contributions and participation of our Chapter members, Allied Sponsors and the AIA Component Scholarship Grant by AIA National.

This year marks the second year of the Al Okuma Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship represents $250 of the total funds provided to each recipient.

AIAVC is proud to support these outstanding Ventura County students and are pleased to help launch them on their journey toward a career in Architecture.
